You will never get a straight answer because there isn't one. Grading is subjective. All 8's are not equal. You could buy 10 GAI 8's submit them all to psa and depending on the cards get a complete smattering of results from PSA 6'2, 7's, 8's, 9's, qualifiers, or they could come back trimmed or altered etc. There is no way to tell.

edit to add: all were crack outs. as BooPotts once said, friends don't let friends submit GAIs on crossovers in their holders. >>
Indeed! You must roll the dice. Plus, there's there's the 'weenie factor' that comes from submitting cards for crossover. If you don't have a bit of gamble in ya then this is the wrong hobby to get into!
I've had some great success. These were all cracked out.
gai 10 = sgc 100 gai 10 = sgc 100 gai 10 = sgc 100 gai 9.5 = bgs 9.5 gai 9.5 = bgs 9.5 gai 9 = psa 10 gai 9.5 = evid of trim (psa) <---this was the only ever evid of trim from psa from a crack out. Had about 20 gai 9.5 cross over to psa 10. This was when GAI was brand new. My crack outs were all done about 2 years ago.
If I were PSA/BGS/GAI, I would NEVER upgrade a card if I saw it in the competition's slab.
But then again what a way to gain customer loyalty while making the others look like they are too tough. Although I feel the tougher the better some feel just the opposite.
