new member and I need opinions please

Hello everyone,

Let me start by saying, that I am about 3 months back into collecting from a 10 yr hiatus, so all of this grading was new to me until I researched and learned. In the last three months I have been reading posts on the message boards here and have grown to respect all of the opinions here. So my question is today at work I was doing my normal keyword topps ebay search and came across a 1959 Topps NL hitting kings Richie Ashburn/Willie Mays #317 PSA 8. The seller neglected to mention the card was PSA anywhere in his title or description, so no keyword searches. Anyway the card closed at $45.55. I bid on it, but didn't use a snipe program, looking back I think I missed out on a pretty good deal. I dont know how to post a link or else I would. One last thing, I dont know if the seller realized what he had based on the other stuff he was selling, just that one card.

Any way, confirm my suspicion that I missed one here and call me an idiot, because Its been bothering me all day.

I dunno................that card does not come up in my completed auctions search. The one that did close recently went for 119.00.

also fwiw you may not have missed anything. the winner of the card could have had a max bid near what the card usually sells for. just cuz he got a deal does not mean that you missed out. had you bidded 50.00 does not mean you would have won the card.

    Good for you.
  • Yeah Steve you are probably right. I was the high bidder with under a minute left, so more than likely the winner sniped the auction. I would have siped at probably $60 or so, and may have came up short anyway.
    Thanks..
