MtG Alpha - 2006 Best Modern Non Sports Set

Congratulations !!!
It seems that PSA has recognized the growth of CCG card games in the collecting world. Again, congrats to Len for winning the Best of Registry Modern Non Sports Set! I thought I had a shot, but it seems PSA disagrees. Oh well, I guess I gotta start goin after the alphas too. Still, it's good to see our little community of hard core magic collectors get some bigtime recognition. You alpha guys sure had an interesting race up til the end. Fortune smiled on the hardy. Good job Len!
Go Seahawks! LOL!

Though Alpha is much tougher to put together in top condition, I feel my set does not hold muster when placed alongside Steven's complete and 9.9+ GPA Beta set. Couple that with the sheer volume of sets he has completed and I feel he should have been the one for the award if they were going to choose a representative from the CCG family. I am glad they are giving recognition to our little corner of the collecting world and hopefully in doing so they will drive a few more people to check out the game and possibly start collecting.
I would also like to thank Steve, as I am sure Bastien would, for setting aside his BORG like mentality for just a second to leave a couple sets open for the rest of us to chase the dream. Similar to the runt pup that has to sneak a scrap of food while the big dog is hogging the bowl
... now get on with it and complete it! :-)
I have been totaly out ebay /magic collecting for last 2 month
I am late in all the MTG business now
Michael had to wait ages to get his money back for the cards i sold for him and i didn t look at the alpha Len need to complete his set.
I will look at it asap though.
I put all my unlimited in new box and it took me some time ... Also i made set on unlimited to sell on ebay with this big lot i won 6 month ago ( 12000 unlimited). It took me long to put them in order to be able to find a black ward in less than 3 min
I have ton of cards still i need to look ... And i don t want to do it so it take ages.
I went back on DAOC 1.5 month ago and i start playing this game too much now again.
I am #1 in the game for my class now. I took the most easy class though but it s awesome to make this in 1.5 month
Congratulation to Len for the alpha set he made. It s a super nice set ! I don t know exactly how nice is the reward he won nor what it realy mean but it look like an achivement !
I hope they will give a gold star to Steven too because he realy deserve it !
For rarity alpha is more rare than the other set for sure but it s not complete and lot cards are bugged. Also there is the cuting different from the other sets. that s why as a gamer i like more beta/ unlimited. But once i have one of those 2 sets then my love go to alpha because it s the Graal of the MTG cards. As for the summer set that is more more rare than alpha and more more expensive i realy don t have any desire for it. I would have some just for the curisity but i would never start make a complete summer set PSA 10 even if i had the money.
Maby some summer collector will robe us the gold star later
I saw PSA grade summer now. I graded 2 of them 2 month ago.
On my idea on who has the best set ever made i would say it s Steven with no hesitation because i know how hard it is to get all PSA 10 set ... I fact once you tryed collecting you see there is a big difference between a set PSA 9.75 and 9.95 ...
See you later guy,
Bastien
I think everyone in the PSA registry has done great, but it is nice to see them recognize the accomplishments of one of our own. I know how tough Alphas are (as do many of you), and Len's set is simply amazing - a great achievement by a great guy... kudos Len!!

Jared
BTW - love the Borg reference for Steven

Ray Thiel (1964-2007) - the man who showed me more wonderful games & gaming sessions than I ever dreamed possible... you ran out of hit points too young, my friend.
Remember, resisitance isn't futile, just expensive.
BTW Jared, what's it gonna take to get a meager psa 9 wall of water from you...It's my last 8. It too must be assimilated.

Your set is nothing to sneeze at; I think on a different day it easily could have won the award instead. Both yours and Len's sets are world class, and I am humbled by them
Besides, now that Len has won instead of you, he has to be on his guard. Remember, you only only get one shot before the Borg adapt...

I was on eBay a couple of days ago and I saw that there was a PSA 10 Beta Rock Hydra for sale with a BIN. I got excited and quickly logged into the Registry to get your email address and drop you a line to tell you. Once I was there I noticed you already had gotten a 10 Hydra
The funny part - he also had a PSA 9 Beta Wall of Water. Of course, someone had already hit the BIN on that card
Sometimes, it seems you just can't win.
Take it easy,
Jared
PS - OK, today you CAN win. Shoot me your address and I'll mail you my WoW, free of charge. I just hate to see that 8 in the middle of all those 10's
