Worst mail week ever - two broken holders came!

The first guy used a bubble mailer but the card wasn't protected in a sleeve or anything. The second guy PUT IT IN A SMALL LETTER ENVELOPE and it was also unprotected.

    PATHETIC!

I always pack even the cheapest card between two pieces of thick cardboard
before putting it into a bubble mailer. It only costs another 24 cents for chrisake!

Can't blame folks who need to make a living off our hobby for trying to cut costs,
but being penny wise and dollar foolish at some point hopefully will catch up with them ... image

  • that's pretty annoying... nothing puts me in a worse mood than receiving damaged cards in the mail that happened because a seller is too lame to ship correctly.. i'll save my scotch tape rant for another time.

it could be worse, maybe. I had a package arrive open. the PO says that it was over stuffed. luckily the cards that were lost werent the graded ones. but non the less was still disappointing.

I learned the hard way too. They get broken when they are put through the sorting machines in the post office. The cheapest way to get it to someone safely is to put it in a bubble mailer, then either hand the package directly to a post office clerk or put it in the "do it yourself" postage kiosk bin. *knock on wood* I've never had any problems doing this.

There's no excuse for that --the sellers are total idiots & you should complain LOUDLY. I ship hundreds of graded cards a year--and I'm proud of the fact that the two things mentioned most often in my feedback are 'fast shipping' and 'well packaged'. It takes about 60 extra seconds to put the card inside a little cardboard protection--even the thin cardboard works OK.

I'll start it! I can't stand the people who think that scotch tape somehow protects the item... I've actually damaged items because the seller used so much damn tape that it was almost impossible to open the friggin' package! Had to use scissors on one and I cut the item inside...
  • That's just wrong. Sorry to that happend to you...

I had a seller send me two graded cards taped to the inside of a Priority Mail envelope. I cringe whenever a receive a graded card unprotected in a bubble mailer but that shipment almost made me sick. Fortunately, the cards weren't damaged. I left a positive feedback but I did say "lousy packaging". I basically lose money everytime I ship cards because of the weight - I put the card(s) between two thick cardboards inside a heavy duty bubble mailer. I woud rather the cards get there safely than anything else.
