I swear, you just never know. I won a 2003-04 SP Authentic Shawn Marion/Leandro Barbosa Dual Auto and a 2003-04 Upper Deck Legends Signs of a Future Legend Fred Jones from this guy. I figure a seller with a feedback rating of 97% (27,628) would be o.k. to buy from. I've taken riskier chances. Well, I paid on 6/1/06 and as of today, no cards or response from the seller. Then I look at his past feedback and I see he has almost 2,000 negatives in the last month alone.
Needless to say I've opened a dispute with paypal and I have no doubt it will be escalated before the 20 days. FYI, if you do buy from him, he is very slow, if you hear from him at all!

Edited to add: I apologize, it should be 2,000 negatives in the last 12 months.

But, he has a mix of negs; some for no show items, some for junk items.
Maybe he got too big too fast. In general, a seller below 98% is not worth
making a deal with; most of the time, it will be OK, but when it is not, you have
to waste time trying to unwind the deal. There are plenty of eBay sellers
with 99% or better, and I usually can find what I want from them.
On the other hand, there are many reasons that a seller/buyer can get
a few negs, even if it is not their fault.
What really amazes me is the sellers with 10,000+ FB and 100% rating.
I do not know how they manage it.

It's really not that difficult when you have good customer service and conduct business the way you're supposed to.

Its not all that easy all it takes is one idiot. You can have flawless CS and eventually you will find one.
Actually scammers tend to target sellers with 100%FB more than those without it.. They view these sellers as pushovers. Most sellers are most scared of their first neg and will do anything to keep from getting including letting the buyer push you around.
I hang out on the Ebay boards as well and see it all the time "I don't want a neg so I am going to just refund the 100.00 and let him keep the item."

It really does ONLY take one scamster to nail the 100-percenters. All of the great CS is no
defense at all against JUST ONE scamster.

Won the cards March 30th. Paid via paypal March 31st.
Got an automated invoice April 6th. Replied with a 'paid via paypal March 31st' response.
Got an automated response April 13th that the cards were going out.
Got the cards April 29th.
Very slow, but got a great deal and eventually got the cards...

I never got an automated invoice. NOTHING! The guy's a putz. I guess if you have over 25,000 feedback and you're turning out a couple hundred auctions a week you could care less.

I think this seller ship slow a month or so. Base on some FBs.
All the neg and neutral FBs of discountcardz
I always use this site to look at negative and neutral FBs of an ebay ID.

I'll second the fact that it's not easy. I have been in retail and customer service most of my working life and I try to do right for the customer, even if it costs me. I've done close to 10,000 transactions since 1997 and left almost 9,000 postitive feedback. I have received only 4600 positives in return, and I have five negs, and here's what for:
1) Buyer from Egypt bought $100+ worth of merchandise from me, was his third purchase from me as the first two went off without a hitch. Package got delayed/lost so he negs me without even contacting me. I gave him a full refund including shipping. He purchased again, and left a positive, something to the effect of "neg feedback was in error" but eBay wouldn't remove it. This was before they instituted the "mutual remove" policy.
2) TWICE I got negs that were meant for OTHER sellers. They apologized but then failed to respond to the mutual remove message so those stuck.
3) Had a guy leave me a neg BEFORE HE EVEN PAID for his 3 items. Finally pays me 45 days late and then leaves me ANOTHER neg saying the cards weren't as mint (they were).
4) Package apparently got lost so the buyer, without so much as an email or anything letting me know he didn't get the package, leaves me a neg calling me a thief. I emailed him twice asking him what the problem was, and offered a full refund including shipping. Got no response so that one stuck too.
It sucks being 99.9% but anyone with half a brain should be willing to deal with me despite the few negs.
