What is that on the obv? Is this rare? Not a particularly attractive design IMHO, but first time I've seen one. Interesting!

The obverse has a Lion seated with a "Liberty Cap" on a pole behind. Looks like a poor strike but a nice coin!

No problem at all. I thought the design was kind of unique. Too bad their world cup hopes don't look as good.

This coin is know as the "Patacon". I would consider it rare, because too many were melt to made jewelry and other accesories. At the local market you can get one in VF for about 150 USD, higher grades go to 400 USD and more.

The design of the coin is the same as the coat of arms on the Paraguayan flag . The lion and the star with the palm and olive on the other side.
