Declared value....

So, has anyone tried to pass a high dollar card (worth significantly more than the $75 limit) through the $5 special? Did you get the grade you expected?

not the best example, but I submitted a Bart Starr RC that was in VG condition, and it came back a 4 (which is worth quite a bit more than $100 I would think $150 maybe)

So I was quite happy with the grade. they did not seem to mind. I didnt have the nerve to try a VG '55 clemente, though.

I did send a 48 Bowman Ralph Kiner in under the ?March? $8 special. This was supposed to be for vintage cards under $75. I expected a 5 ($80) but was hoping for a 6 ($120). It came back a 7 ($190), so I think as long as you list the declared value at $75 or less, you are ok. This probably is not a good idea though.

...I also send a 48 Bowman Phil Rizzuto in under this special as well. It came back a 6 ($225). Needless to say I was pleasantly surprised.
  • Submitted three (3) '86 Fleer Jordan RCs, Jordan sticker from same set, and '86 Jerry Rice.

All were graded, albeit not that wonderfully!!

    Jordan rookies all earned 6s

    Sticker was a 7 (ST)

    Rice rookie was a 7.
