EBAY scam

I have never done anything like this but this guy deserves it. For the many dealers who know me, my reputation (craveking) is excellent and I go out of my way to leave feedback on every transaction. And, the vast majority of sellers on EBAY are reputable, courteous and fair. However, a seller with ID "mrbob_loblaw ( 322)" recently sold me a 1955 Topps Matthews card, PSA cert# 09033745. The sale was on 4/13 and the price was $388, below SMR but likely due to the "0X0" prefix on the cert #. Regardless, I paid for the card which never arrived. Somtime around the end of April the seller refunded my paypal account and told me the card was returned to him and the holder was damaged but the card was not. I tild him I would be happy to re-pay him and allow him time to send the card back to PSA to have it reholdered. He agreed and I paypal'd him once again on May 2nd. In the meantime, I noticed his feedback rating was dropping and noticed also another buyer who claimed he never received the card because, as he speculated, the seller was not happy with the price. He (the seller), told him the same story - the card was damaged. Of course I realized at that point that I was probably sunk. I also checked NAXCOM and noticed the card which I bought on that site. I emailed mrbob_loblaw and of course received no reply. When I went back to the NAXCOM site the next day, however, the card had been changed - same card, different PSA#. Not sure if this seller is the same guy and I won't mention his name in this thread but maybe one of you know him. Just search the NAXCOM site for 1955 Mathews and it should be a PSA 8 card listed at the top. The seller ID is at the bottom. I have sent emails to the EBAY seller several times and no reply. I now see that his ID has been removed as of this week. I also emailed EBAY customer support, which is a farce because they really do not support anyone except their own interests. And, I am not an insignificant customer buying a few cards a month as some of you know. At any rate, I really don't care about the money as much as I care about people who tarnish the reputation of a group of outstanding sellers on EBAY and the impact it has on anyone trying to get into the hobby. This guy is a piece of work. If he had money problems or made a mistake, all he had to do is let me know. Instead, he opted to take the low road.

  • There's been an ongoing thread about this seller:

    mr bobloblaw the scammer
Next MONTH? So he's saying that if he wins, the best-case scenario is that he'll be paying for it two weeks after the auction ends?

Forget blocking him; find out where he lives and go punch him in the nuts. --WalterSobchak 9/12/12

  • I added to the original thread back a month or so. Look into the details and I am sure someone in the original thread can help you find this scum. If I still had his personal info I would post it right here in BOLD type. I had his phone number also as i got it from EBAY contact info, but have since gotten rid of it.
  • thanks, my bad for not spending enough time researching this guy.
