PCGS SLAB 1903 MS63 $2 1/2 LIBERTY COIN

HELLO THERE!

I HAVE A QUESTION I FOUND THIS SLAB AMONG MY FATHERS POSSESIONS AFTER HE PASSED. IT SAYS PCGS 1903 $2 1/2 MS63. My question is when I go to the page to look up it's current value at this website does that mean that's the current price that a coin dealer would pay me if I sold this particular coin? I'm curious since gold has gone up if its worth selling it or hanging on to it. If anyone has information for me reguarding the value of this coin, if you could get back to me that would be much appreciated.
Thank You
Mary

Most of the time the prices are more of what you would pay a dealer for the coin (although the prices are commonly not terribly accurate). A dealer would typically pay you considerably less.

A few dealers are currently bidding $1000 on a sight-seen basis and one dealer I know of has one listed for sale at $1200. Based upon that, it sounds like that coin is currently worth approximately $1000 to $1100 wholesale

    Edited to add: Welcome Mary.

Thank you for your response. I have no intimate knowledge of coins and I thought I would at least get a true idea of the value incase I decide to sell it at some point.

I have another question I have some paper money $1.00 silver certificate Black eagle series 1899 Teehee/Burke looks to be uncirculated. As well as a 1899 Napier/McClung which is in almost the same condition both have Nice threads except for the fact that it has a very faint line down the middle of the bill where it probably had be folded but other than that it's beautiful. I looked at several of them on websites and ebay but there seem to be huge discrepancies in the prices Can you lend any knowledge to me on the starting price for bills such as these.
    Thanks again
