Looking at an 1815 bust quarter this morning, it occurred to me that I have never owned any US coin from 1815. Ditto for 1799. These are two oddball years where cents are rare (1799) or non-existant (1815). There are no half cents for either year, so you basically need to buy silver or gold to own a coin from one of these years (or an expensive 1799 large cent). Post a pic of a 1799 or 1815 from your collection of any denomination!

for 1815, it's the quarter
Would Love to have a gold coin from either year. the 1799 cent never did anything for me

It's doing something for me- stopping me from completing my date set of large cents.
I can't bring myself to part with $3,500 to buy an AG, corroded slug.
If I had it my way, stupidity would be painful!
