There's a New Sheriff In the Town of High Grade 60's-70's, and it Appears He Won the Lottery

Recent Purchases.

Not sure he can keep it up, but if so, there's going to be some beautiful late 60's and early-to-mid 70's sets out there.

That "little" spree would go a long way in paying for the new floors, windows, and deck on my house. image Then again, if I wasn't doing all of the above I might be involved in a "little" spree like that image

Hard to say for sure. But, what we know is the man is actually paying for the stuff he wins, and he has a LOT of money. Who else spends $1775 on a card based on a scan like this:

There was another thread here about his spending ( we are talking, between his two EBAY IDs, $50,000 plus in the last two months) of stolen credit cards etc. but that is a bunch of bull. He pays via paypal with an echeck.

He may not be the most astute buyer as i have noticed him WAY over pay on alot of items..........but it is a good time to sell PSA 9 and PSA 10 from the late 60s thru early 70s as his buying alone has raised the bar on these items.

is this the same id as stfu....?

how do you flip those cards, when he's paying top $$$ for them on e-bay already? i see no profit margin in that equation.

now if that's for personal collection, power to them then, i can only vicariously live through that insanity!!!!

what's next, aquaman gonna drowned in the bathtub?

If he paid $11 for a Mays like that, just who bid $10 for him to outbid?
  • WOW!
  • williplettwilliplett Posts: 471 ✭✭
Wow, is anyone else surprised at how much some of those 76 PSA 10's went for? They were all from the WCSsports auction. Over 2k for the Aaron record breaker, $1,300 and change for Bench and $911 for a little Joe Morgan?

If I get time, I might go through and see how big of a haul WCSsports made off of this one auction. Some of their football cards also went for top dollar.

    Must be nice!

I don't see how he's grossly overpaying as there are obviously people willing to pay just 1 bid increment lower than him on every auction he has won..

I don't think the question is of "overpaying" more than it is just oohing and ahhhing. Kind of like watching the 4th of July fireworks?

Sweet centering for a "GEM MINT 10" if I must say so. "Nice centering...it doesn't get any better than this." If 90/10 T/B and L/R is the best on the market then this might be true....

Seriously, I bet this guy really did win the lottery or a big inheritance. To suddenly spend so big and frequently screams found money.

The truly amazing thing is to win EVERYTHING you bid on. Imagine what the actual top bid is. He probably bid $200 on that PSA 4 Mays to win it for $11.

I would love to go nuts like that but I still don't think I could. Money still means something to me, no matter how much I had. I might go nuts with something truly great like a 52 Topps set but not like this.

...win the lottery or a big inheritance.

As an estate planning attorney let me confirm it is no myth that some people really do go out and blow cash like it's going on trees. I have seen crazy extravigance... often before their check arrives! I obviously do not know the situation here but would not surprise me at all if it's a 25 year old who thinks he is "investing" his new inheritance. This is why continuing trusts with a third party trustee are a really good idea for most beneficiaries, in my professional opinion!

    Hi Guys,

I’ve dealt with the person off ebay and he is a self made multi millionaire. But I can’t (don’t really know) tell you why he’s buying up everything.

Funny-- When I first got on Ebay in the spring of 2000 I won everything I bid on for about five weeks, but I'm far from a self made anything!
