Technical Help

Hi guys,

I need help learning how to do two things.

1) Lift a scan off ebay, and
2) Count the 'pixels' (is that right?) from point 'a' to point 'b' on the scan.

I'd really appreciate any help. I don't want to clog up the boards, but if someone in the know could either PM me or email me at boopotts@yahoo.com I will forever sing your praises from the highest rooftops.

Merci!

Guy

    To save a scan:

Go to the scan.....move your mouse over the scan and right click:

There you should get a drop down which should include the line "Save picture as"
Press that button ........ give the scan a name and save on your putor.

Fantastic! Thank you, LD, for going out of your way to help me. I've given you some lip in the past re: your anti-spam campaign, so if you'd told me to p*ss off I guess I couldn't have blamed you.

Anyone know how to do the pixel counting thing?

    Download Jruler

Run the program and open the picture of the card.

Measure the pixels of the left border, x, measure the pixels of the right border, y.

    The centering is simply (100*x)/(x+y) & (100*y)/(x+y)

i.e. left border is 30 pixels wide (x=30), right border is 15 pixels wide (y=15); the centering is then 67/33.

You can measure the top and bottom the same way, but no need to flip the image pi/2 radians, just right click on jruler and flip the ruler.

Open the picture you just saved in Windows Paint. Click View > Zoom > Custom... and select 800%. Then click View > Zoom > Show Grid
