A cool but strange find from the woodchips.

I got up early this morning and took a walk to a local elementary school to see what the tot lot had to offer. The wood chip area was quite large, approximately 8,000 square feet or so.
I started at one corner and methodically walked back and forth for about 4 hrs, digging every signal I happened across. Trash was everywhere but that was to be expected. Only dug 4 pulltabs, but a good number of foil fruit drink caps rang out in their place.
One of the penny signals I dug yielded a real shocker for me. I could hardly believe my eyes as I saw a silver George V staring back at me from 3 inches in the woodchips! I noticed he was quite yellow from the harsh conditions that hardwood chips create. Flipped him over to see a date of 1921!
I'm thinking some young kid had some coins given to him and was careless with this one maybe. Anway it put a big smile on my face!
This tiny .925 childs ring size 4, put a smile on my face as well!
Total in clad came to $6.23. Also a few trinkets in the mix.
Thanks for looking!

You are correct...you just never know!
I noticed a 1951-D wheatie in the mix that doesn't appear to have been in the ground too long.
I need to get back over there and hunt the grass areas soon.

Lafayette Grading Set
School just let out last thursday, so the school yards will be void of people!
I need to get to some of the others around town. I think there is a total of six to hunt locally.
<< <i>That George V coin is cool. Any idea what it's worth? >>
With a mintage of 30 million in this condition, less than a buck.
