  • I tried to bid $150 and it didn't take (I want an ms68 anyway!). I picked up the ms67 91-p for $40.

I was held UP I tell ya.

Paul, you are a dirty dog.image

Trying to protect 6 coins against snipers all at once is hard. I got 5 out of the 6 I wanted. I lost the 1976 in 67. Somebody snuck in behind me while I was batteling Paul for the 1978 in 67.

I have NEVER spent SO much on clad coins in my life, but these hardly ever show up and they were in my favorite grade 67.

registers as an SMS coin. Uh oh. Dangerous mechanical error.
  • Don't worry about 76-p Jon. I got 25 of them at pcgs.

Jon I don't think you were robbed with your price paid for the 78. A pop 22/2 coin in a year w/o any FB's is a semi rare coin.
I also believe the price guide is a little low on this coins true worth. That said, if LR's 25 subs come back as 50% MS 67's then the value could drop. But I would be supprised, having not seen his coins, if more than a couple reach 67. I wish him the best of luck on his grades, but thats a tough year to get high grades on. Would be great if he broke the 0 bands for this year. That would only leave the 1970-P/74-P to be made.

As for the 1976-P, thats an even tougher year, as the MS67 pop 13/0 shows.
By the way, what did the 76MS67 go for on ebay?

Thats why I bid so much. Like dimeman said, you just do not see the coin very often, and the old slab was nice to see too.

That is correct. I was tracking all those auctions as well but I have been focusing on...well....I dunno if I should mention it in a dime thread but....here goes...lincoln set. There I said it, lol.

I think that is a great price for that date. I would have paid near $200 for the coin.
