DVD movies. I used to buy a lot. Now I've got a Netflix account, and movies I want show up at my door. It's saving me about $200 a month, plus I've been eBaying off a lot of my old movies that I don't really intend to watch again (and if I ever do want to watch it again, I'll just Netflix it).
“A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly."
We've cut way back on almost everything since we bought a second house in April. Once we move to it and sell the house we're living in now, the money should start flowing again.
"My friends who see my collection sometimes ask what something costs. I tell them and they are in awe at my stupidity." (Baccaruda, 12/03).I find it hard to believe that he (Trump) rushed to some hotel to meet girls of loose morals, although ours are undoubtedly the best in the world. I haven't bought anything numismatic in about four months. I find reading and talking about coins is actually more fun and interesting than buying them for a collection. This could have very negative repercussions for the coin market if it catches on.

Yes, it could. With the increasingly high prices for "nice" coins we may see more collectors doing just that.

Everyone presumably has their own personal reasons, including the obvious "I'm not." For me, it's a matter of trying to simplify my life and my lifestyle. My world has become entirely too cluttered, and I want to purge myself of junk that I really don't need lying around my house. Nowadays when I see something in a store I like, I tell myself it's just one more thing to pick up, clean, and put away -- and more often than not I pass on the purchase.
If I could only convince my kids of this philosophy...

I started that a long time ago. In the past year I'm finally to a point where I know the where abouts of everything I own. Half of that is still going to be sold. It is nice to have room to move and ease of cleaning. Been selling and junking soooo many things that I find are just obsolete. Saving the cash for something that will hold It's value.
