    This is an insult to 99% of coin collectors since even those who buy expensive coins often collect some less expensive ones as well.

    since fair market value is defined as:

    "The price that an interested but not desperate buyer would be willing to pay and an interested but not desperate seller would be willing to accept on the open market assuming a reasonable period of time for an agreement to arise. "

    I feel that the comment has merrit but not really fair... as much as I dont like overpriced items selling on TV, they are not forcing anyone to buy the products....

    But Fair Market Value definition also usually includes the concept of an informed buyer---something I don't think of when I see gold washed State Quarters.image
