It wasn't made in China was it? Just kidding, very nice and nice pics too. I just recently had to let mine go but it was no where the grade of that beauty. Congrats on the purchase...

Very nice talers - both of you. I particularly like the 2 years of the same issue posted next to each other!

Very nice taler Stuart! I don't remember seeing one shown here with the brothers this old. Usually the talers posted here show the three brothers much younger. image

    Stuart,

Could you please post photos of that coin once you have it in hand, maybe close-ups. Something isn't copasetic to me about the surfaces. image

I'm thrilled by the details on this 400 year old fabulous coin!

For as much as DLRC charges, I would think that they could afford a better camera as their photo isn't appealing to me and I wouldn't have glanced at the coin twice. However I like Stuart's photos of the coin and they do the 400 year coin more justice. image

Yeah, DLRC's pictures are horrendously bad. I think they just use a flatbed scanner.

Either they don't know or don't care how miserable their pictures are. Apparently it doesn't register that if they had better pics they'd be doing more business...

CoinPictures: I agree with you completely that if DLRC would improve the quality of their digital images, by taking digital photographs vs. using lifeless lackluster scanned images, the improved images would help them sell more coins at higher prices.

Then again, if you know how to read their scans, with their liberal return policy, you can sometimes find a diamond in the rough worth keeping. image
