For those who complain about slow shipping from ebay sellers...

From the time I pay (paypal), I've always considered the item shipped within 72 hours standard, and anything shipped within 72 hours and a week acceptable. Dell makes even the slowest ebay shipper look good. Order placed 05/24 (standard OEM item - not custom). As of 06/08, it's still not shipped... If this was ebay, they'd be getting a big, fat negative image

  • Well what many buyers do not realize that Federal Law actually gives you 30 days to ship the item. Remember the old days of mail order when it was common to have to wait 6 to 8 weeks for delivery of an item.
  • I didn't know there was an official law on that. If you took 30 days on ebay, there'd be a torch-lit mob outside your house. The only things that regularly take forever are mail-in-rebates.

hmmmm not this guy though.. i bought a joe montana mcfarlane figure from this guy back in april.. paid right away.. the ad (ebay 6053357833) said that it was a pre-order but all items ship within 30 days blah blah blah yadda yadda...

i understand it's a pre-order but damnnnnnnnnnnnnnn.. coming up on 6 weeks now.. i contacted him and he brushed me off with a standard response about it being a pre order and basically told me to settle down and he'd send my dollie when he could.. didn't know he was breaking federal law.. maybe i'll inform him of that fact and request a refund... more than likely not, and i will get it sometime down the road and leave him positive feedback and only he and i will understand the sarcasm in me calling him a rocket fast shipper... actually probably just me

and yes i SWORE i'd never buy another one of those little plastic money-losing nightmares but then they released a montana figure.. what could i do - not buy one? i relapsed..
  • Yeah preorders can be frustrating. Plus there are a lot of scammers doing preorders for boxes and cases. I believe the window of time to file a dispute is 30 days for paypal, but it's 90 days for many credit cards.

Dammit - now you got me thinking about those figures. They're really high quality and cheap, but not so cheap when you buy them 10 at a time image
  • I would file with Paypal you will get your money back since the item was not shipped in 7 days. That is why Paypal and pre-orders is a bad combination. Also according to Ebay rules a pre-ordered item must be available within 30 days.
  • yeah that's tempting.. but i'm gonna pick my battles because i don't need the hassle right now, and it's just a plastic action figure.. the seller's 20000 feedback makes me feel a little better about it.. i'll probably roll over as usual and take it like a good little ebayer.. just another bad experience with mcfarlane figures... they are however very cool and i really do want that montana figure...

anyone know if there will be variants of it?

Paypal now has a 45 day window.

    Steve
    Good for you.
  • I would advise doing it before the 45 day window is up..
