Anyone deal with ebay jkjactions

I was bidding on a few of the cents they had and all of the listings were cancelled. Are these folks decent? board members? anyone delt with them?

I'm assuming the coins sold privately or the seller got cold feet with 2 days left and prices still reasonable/low.

I was wondering the same thing. In his auctions, he said these were part of the #3 set at one time. I would be curious to know what happened with the auctions.

I just received a email from them and they said with the PCGS award deadline approaching the coins were sold yesterday, must have been a sweet offer.....

  • For some reason that ebay ID sounds familiar...I had an auction cancelled recently also and I can't be sure but that might have been the ebay person. Don't quote me on that but it sounds oddly familiar....

After checkin their ebay feedback nothing looks out of place. Much of their feedback I recognize as CU members....
  • I've dealt with Jeff. He's a nice guy and had a super nice set (I bought his 72-s last fall). Yes, I believe he got an offer for all of them (not from me) and accepted it.

Oh it is so clear now. He cancelled about 20 or so auctions for Lincolns. All of which with bids and many of which I was going to try to purchase.

Persoanlly I don't really care if he did get a great offer. That is really rude to cancel so many bids. If he wanted them to sell like that he should have offered them that way first or told the guy to buy them on ebay. JMHO.

PS I might need to get a Lincoln fix soon J. I will message you and prob pick some up off your BST post.

Yep I wanted that 2003D and three others, I think he may have cut himself short.

    Interesting replys in this thread.

If you guys wanted the coins why not bid on them strongly so that the guy would know there was some severe interest ? Can you REALLY blame him for taking a offer for the bunch ?

    Just thoughts......

I can place a 350.00 bid but only have it elevated to 27.99. The auctions still had three days but alot of the strong bidders had their place holder bid in place, prior to the auction ending the price drives up significantly. Too many people tryingto snipe at the last minute. For a little bit more on the listing fees he could have had a BIN, a semi-reasonable price and I'm sure he would have gotten it. I think I'll have to start going the direct route and asking how much to end the auction early.

Actually there was very strong bids on more than half of them. I saw many over $400 already with more than 3 days to go. Some were higher. The more common stuff was low still. For example, the 92 and 93 in 68 was only going for $20 or so but those are common in 68 and rarely sell for more than $70 or so anyway. Now the rare stuff, top pop stuff, or low pop stuff was climbing fast. The 81D in 67 and 85 in 68 were really up there in price just to name a couple.

IMO there was plenty of interest in these coins especially since he listed them together. I saw several of these coins at levels 10-20% higher than I paid for my coins of the same grade 4 months ago and these still had 2-3 days left in the auction. I guess my main complaint is that I really don't see it as good business to start an auction let them get lots of interest and several bidders. Then cancel all the bids and sell them private party.

I know the next time I see a coin from this seller I probably won't bid, why bother. There are many reputable dealers on this forum that have very nice quality PQ material that won't cancel my bid when I buy from them.

Many of the coins had way more than 1 bid ? If this is so I understand why you guys are ticked. I agree that this was not cool at all.

I agree....why put them on Ebay to begin with.

Yeah there were many with several bids. Just a few:
    Coin----- Grade------Bids -----Price ------------Item #
    1983------MS68----- 5 bids---$400 -----------8428814414
    1983 D--- ms68-----5 bids---$438.88 --------8428814862
    1988 D--- ms68-----6 bids---$478.78 --------8428816885
    1982-------ms68-----5 bids---$366.67 -------8428818369

Just to show a few of the higher ones. There were a total of 32 auctions cancelled and six of them had 2 bids one had only 1. The other 25 had between 3-6 bids. So he cancelled roughly 105 or more bids on those coins. Here is a link to his past auctions page!
