50 on 50!!!

My 1950 Bowman baseball set is finally at 50%! It's not a great set; I've been hovering around number 17 for quite a while. I'm building it in straight 6 condition and when I'm finished, I think it'll at least make the top 10. image Just thought I'd share this milestone.

    Keep going Mark!

Always good to reach a milestone!
  • Congrats!
  • Nice job Mark. I had a nice piece of the 51' set for a while and really liked the images. I also liked the varied cropping that took place on some of the 51's as they were expanded versions of some of those 50' set images in some cases.
Best of luck with the back end 50%.

55 year old cards in true ex-mt is nothing to sneeze at. Congrats!

Lemme guess - you're also 50 years old too! image

It's good to see another person collecting for the fun of it and enjoying it, rather than shooting for #1 on the registry. Keep it up!
  • Good job MorrellMan,

Youre lucky I bought a house this year, you might just pass me (#14).

Thanks guys - it's been very fun.
Steve, they are all unqualified 6s, some I think are too good to be 5s but not quite as nice as most and a few should be 7s, but overall it's a clean strong EX/MT the way I like to collect.
BOTR - Thanks for asking if I was 50. The answer is yes. However, it was several years ago. image
Gmoney - it'll be a while I'm sure before I pass anybody, but I noticed your sig - mint '52 Berk Ross, eh? Those are tough. Good luck.

Yeah, Mark i figured that. I was just wondering if they were 8oc unqualified to a straight 6. Like you, I prefer the real deal. A true 6 is a nice card.

Congrats, Mark! I've got a long way to go on any of my 4 sets before I reach 50%...but it's the chase, right?!

That was a real interesting link on the '50B set. Thanks for sharing that gmoney!
