How do folks find pcgs populations for foreign issues?

In snooping through some of the Canadian and British collections, I see that they have the columns for pops in the current grade, and also those graded higher. My question is, where do the registry collectors find this info? I've tried various ways of locating the info, but my best guess is that you have to take the coin # from your submission and type it in at the top of the population report page. Any other way to get the info?

For Canadian coins you can go to "Coin Number Lookup" on the home page. For other countries where there are registry sets, you can find some numbers there. I would expect the "hard copy" of world coins that PCGS sells for $24 has all the numbers but then again, I would have expected the web site to have them as well!
