Centering on the Elway looks a little off T/B for a 10. But that Dickerson RC is SWEEET!!!!

If you get a 9-worthy Stephenson, let me know. Thanks.

Whats wrong with everyone? This is the super-rare subset that not many people knew about. They were made with invisable ink and invisable cardstock. They are the best I have seen!Congrats! image
Of course, I had this handy- dandy secret decoder tool just laying aound that enabled me to see them.

What, the scans of the Marino, Elway and Dickerson didn't show up? Oh wait, I DIDN'T GET ANY OF THOSE FREAKIN' CARDS!! Well at least I did get 6 commons that have a shot at a 10. All I need is for them to grade gem mint and bring $70 each and I'm almost even........ What, they only bring around $20? Um...... uh-oh.

You know, even though Marino is my favorite quarterback of his era, I was always hesitant to buy a box of these. I guess my insticts were right on. Also, I just threw up in my mouth.

p.s.- Send me your want lists and if I pulled it you can have it.

Cd's , Sorry to hear aboout your box - did you get it from a reputable source and were there any problems with it or was it just bad luck? I had the same thing happen to me recently when I opened a 1978 Topps Football box I bought a few years ago (and I was always suspicious of its authenticity to begin with). Still kind of fun to open, but that pit in your stomach feeling as you get down to the last few packs kind of knowing there would not be anything worthwhile is no fun....
I am buying and trading for RC's of Wilt Chamberlain, George Mikan, Bill Russell, Oscar Robertson, Jerry West, and Bob Cousy!

Very reputable source, just bad luck.

Sorry guys, please no more requests for cards- I just gave them all away to someone building a raw set.

  • my stupid friend once walked in and without thinking he picked up a stick of bubblegum from the big stack on the coffee table and popped it in his mouth....

    *crunch

then he looked all scared/sick and spit it out as fast as he could, and i was just laughing my ass off because i was cracking a box of old cards at the time and he had just helped himself to gum that was well past peak freshness...

While we're at it I have singles left over from boxes of 91 Stadium Club FB and 93 SP FB if anybody wants them. All I want is $5 each for delivery, and stars will be included. I only pulled out the big RCs (Favre, Bledsoe) and any star that had a shot at a 10.

That's very strange. The last wax box I bought yielded 3 Marino and 3 Elways - with centering issues of course. The 70's and 80's football is always a crap shoot as far as collation is concerned. I busted a 1981 vending box a few years ago from a reputable source and didn't pull a Montana, Winslow, Payton, Hampton, ect... It was friggin brutal. On the other hand, I busted 6 rack packs from BBCExchange last week and pulled 6 Walter Payton's (3 gradeable) and 6 Ottis Anderson rc's (2 gradeable). It's the luck of the draw. Sorry to hear about it.

Jesus Christ-- a box of that goes for $450? I am just completely out of the loop when it comes to the prices of unopened football. Hell, even if you pulled 9's of every major card in the set you still wouldn't come within 50% of the price of the box, would you?

I'm interested in your 93 SP lot. Let me know if it's available.

I busted a 1981 rack case last year and pulled 6 Montana rc's, 5 of which were in PSA 8+ condition. The PSA 9 in my HOF rc set is from that case. You're best bet in pulling a Montana rc is from the rack wax packs that BBCExchange has for sale. The regular rack are too easy to search (I have the sequence written down on how to find the Montana) unless you buy an unopened case.
