Sounds like i got a raw deal from NAXCOM seller..

Let me know what you guys think....i buy a very small amount for my Aaron set and Nowitzki set through Naxcom, but always look to see if i can find a good deal. Last weekend i bought a Dirk 1998-99 Topps Chrome Refractor for about $50 from a seller with email address mark_fireman@countrywide.com. The card is currently going for atleast $20 more...After sending him an email to confirm the purchase, he responded and told me that he sold the card over the weekend at the show in CA. He also resides in CA as per his Naxcom listing. Today on EBAY i noticed that the same card is listed by a seller with the ID fire7man. That lister is also from CA. The card has an opening bid of $69 on it. I do believe he was at the card show and i think he noticed the card goes for more than $50, so he came home from the show and listed it on Ebay for start price of $69. He then saw that i had purchased it, and lied to me....Anyone else on the same page as me? I won't buy anything else on Naxcom and i have advised them of what hypothetically might of happened.

That happened to me regularly over on Naxcom. I grinned and dealt with it for a while, until something happened that turned me off to Naxcom forever. I purchased a card on Naxcom back on 4/16 via credit card. It wasn't until a week later that I even heard back from the seller, claiming that the card was shipped. It looks like they did the old "print the label and send the item later" trick though, since the priority mail package (which was never scanned at the PO of course) didn't arrive until May 6th (2 weeks later for those playing at home). By the 1st though, I had already contacted Naxcom and informed them that I was contacting my credit card provider since the item hadn't arrived by that point, and that if the item ever did arrive it would be returned. Their customer care dept attempted to help, since the worthless seller never responded to any emails throughout the whole process, but even though we had specifically agreed that they would perform a credit card reversal once I retuned the card (I sent it back on the 8th, and it arrived on the 10th, imagine that), they ended up just crediting my Naxcom account instead. I emailed them that Friday about the error, ended up having to eat the fees and transfered the balance to Paypal (2 days), then to my bank account (taking another 4 days).

I'll never buy another card on Naxcom again.

  • I was, at one time, a staunch supporter fo Naxcom. They were an up and comer in the online game. But, as many can see, their customer support has failed, their protection of their buyers is horrible and most of their sellers have begun to play the same game of selling a card and refusing to ship it because they want more money....or, as you read above, they relist it on Ebay....which has happened to me several times on Ebay.

I strongly agree with the above poster as I will NEVER again use Naxcom....not for selling and certainly not for buying. I closed all of my auctions there a months or so ago and sent them an email telling them why.

    This is trite...

    But everythings that goes around....

I have never done biz with Naxcom but my honest impression and advice?

Don't throw the baby out with the bathwater.

If there are bargains to be gotten - I would take the good with the bad. Think of all the honest people who want to do biz with you who are affected by a few?

Many times people have won a card on ebay - guy says card no longer available - and then see it up a few days later... Yet, we still use ebay.

  • for those of you looking for an update.....here it is!
The seller of the Dirk card to me on Naxcom is confirmed to be the same guy selling it on ebay (fire7man is his id). I did some more exploring and looked at his feedback and found the last card he sold on ebay( Maddux update rookie). In the listing it says he has 5 of them.....under his naxcom account he has the same maddux cards for sale!! And also he wrote his name (Mark) in the description of the Dirk card on ebay. the naxcom email address is mark_fireman@countrywide.com. CAUGHT!!!

I contacted NAXCOM and spoke to a cust serv person who told me that they knew him personally and he would NEVER do anything wrong. THEN I GAVE HIM ALL THE DETAILS AND HE WAS VERY QUIET. They are supposedly investigating the whole thing right now...
    I'll keep you posted...

Craig, if it truly is the same guy and he did that to you then he is a scumbag, no matter who here has dealt with him. Too often on these boards I read about some piece of dirt that scams people and right away a dozen members want to praise the seller because they didnt have a problem. If someone breaks into 4 neighbors on your streets home and burglerizes it but passes by yours, wouldnt you still want him to get busted ?

  • i agree with you and he is a scumbag. I emailed him numerous times about the ebay auction..and no responses. I have gotten my paypal credit from naxcom and those idiots did the paypal wrong and i got charged fees!!! what a bunch of idiots!!! i would love to get his ebay auction pulled...any chance? probably not....why would he just not fess up and end his ebay auction and sell me the card out of honesty? Could he be that desperate for the extra $15-$40 that he might get on ebay?
  • Just goes to show that Naxcom is no good.

They admit to knowing him, they can clearly see (like we all can) that he is doing something wrong...yet they sit by and watch without taking the appropriate action. And to boot....they goof up your PayPal refund and you lose money.

    Typical Naxcom customaer care.
