I just picked up a huge collection..whiceh cards to grade?

I just picked up a 900 card collection of Topps baseball '66-'67. Just wondering, other than the stars obviously, are there any cards that are tuff that I should send in for grading?? I know for sure there is a 1967 #86 McCormick with "no trade" line that is probably an 8 for sure. Are there any others that I should send?? Thanks-Claude

    Outside of the stars
Look for the cards that have a shot at a 9.
Look 4 mint corners (use a magnifier or a loup to make sure they have no wear)
& make sure the submittable cards have decent centering & no creases/wrinkles...jay

And '66 or '67 Pete Rose? image

Just asking because I need nicely centered PSA 8's of each.

Yeah there are a couple Rose cards...most of the star cards are in the 6/7 range cuz they were handled more. The commons are nice and I just didn't know if there were any commons that were tuffer to find centered or anything like that. There were also some '64-'66 Philadelphia Football and '66 Topps Football...got a couple Namath 2nd year cards. I know that the '59 Topps baseball commons lately seem to be bringing bigger money than the stars in PSA 8 and I didn't know if the '60s commons were seeing the same sort of thing.
  • Like you, I don't follow these sets closely, but I'd suggest looking at several Registry sets to ID some of the low pop items in certain grades to see if you could directly help some other Registry member or two.

Id suggest looking at the pop report thats what its for if you arent a member now may be the time to sign up

You might want to scan a few cards for the board members to give you opinions on how they will grade. I'm not sure if you've submitted a lot to PSA, but rookie submitters tend to overgrade their cards by about 2 grades, especially vintage. I know it would've saved me a lot of money on my first submission if I came here first.

  • Is there a 67 Perez in NM-MT? I need one
Orioles cards from 1960 to today.

    Be good my brothers.

Check the population report and submit the PSA 8 quality commons that are in the lower 10-20% in terms of PSA 8 or higher population. One star that is clearly tougher than most is the '67 Cepeda.
