I'd like to know what that cost. Never mind; if you have to ask, you can't afford it. Totally awesome.

Ha. My little plan worked. I was afraid we wouldn't get to know who the lucky person was, so I guessed. Congrats Doug, once again, it's incredible. And Dick, one of your finest images.

The color looks very similar to that of an 1885 MS65 that I sold to a forum member two years ago. Beautiful colors. BigD5 worked as the go between, having dealt with both of us previously. Not surprisingly, BigD5 did not profit one nickel from the deal. Congrats on a lovely coin.

That's nice of you to say Lloyd, I certainly had the same thought. Even nicer of you to let me buy it.

someone sent it to you to photograph, and so you took that slightly out of focus obverse pic?

looks like the "soft focus" camera settings and "vaseline on the lens" tricks they use to make over the hill celebrities look better.

just saying, most of your photos are better. maybe this was a first approximation? and we'll be seeing better pics of this beautiful piece?

Nice colors but looks more like a 64 than 65. Unless they bumped the grade up +1 for color.

That picture represented to me the way the coin looked in hand. I concede that the obverse is a bit out of focus but I believe everyone gets the idea of the glowing colors and underlying luster.
