question about detecting

I frequently saw that you find marbles while detecting. My question is (maybe a stupid one), how you detect the marbles if they aren't made of metal ?

  • What Dubba said,I usually find most of my marble's at demo site's where there moving dirt around.I seldom look at my detector until it beep's,the rest of the time I am scanning the ground looking for target's that may have been exsposed. That is how I find most of my marble's.HH,Tom

Sometimes you'll find a marble in the hole with a coin or two, its what the kid had in his pocket when he did that sumersault.

there are other ways to find those old marbles. going after or during the rain helps. if your lucky maybe you'll find a nice old boarded up house. find the front and back porch, using a rake or shoval, remove the dirt from under. you may have to pry some boards out. i once recovered 100+ marbles from a back porch area. after doing this for 20 years, you learn some good tricks.
