older labels versus newer labels...

we had touched base a couple of threads ago, and I think this is a prime example of how the older labels fetch less $$$ than newer looking labels.

Great price. Nice example of buying the holder and not the card. If it was mine it would have got an OC (even though they are tough to find centered). Still a great deal.........

As new as I am into buying graded vintage (if you want to call '60-'70 vintage), it amazes me how often I see people buying the grade and not the card. You would think common sense would be a factor when spending large sums of cash.

I don't, maybe it's just me...but I pass up on cards daily because while they meet my grade requirement, the fall seriously short of my standards for what a "nice" card looks like.

the older holders offer a big advantage, you will be able to see the wrinkles in card time has allowed, new holded cards dont give you a chance to see if wrinkles that someone has rubbed out, this happens on vintage cards!!!!
  • It looks like the auction ended where it would normally, no?

I have a few cards with the old flip. Do you think it would make sense to send it back to PSA to reholder?
