More Grades..

Well, so much for the 316 grader idea. Can't say I'm displeased with this lot.

Nice grades on a tough set. Did they all come from one case? If so, I'm amazed. I only got 3 tens out of a 3 box rack case that looked like it had never been touched. You should do well with the Mets, especially the Gooden 10's.

All one case. And I know what you mean re: the PSA 10 to rack box ratio, as most of the rack cases I've cracked have yielded, at best, 1 or 2 possible PSA 10 candidates per box. In addition to these I have about 20-30 very nice commons from this same 3 box rack break that would be worth submitting if this set ever took off.

Far and away the nicest case of these I've ever broken. I'll probably never get another one like it.

  • Boo--you should do great on all of those Mets cards--Low pops and in most cases none graded higher! Congrats!!!
Next MONTH? So he's saying that if he wins, the best-case scenario is that he'll be paying for it two weeks after the auction ends?

Forget blocking him; find out where he lives and go punch him in the nuts. --WalterSobchak 9/12/12

Looking for Al Hrabosky and any OPC Dave Campbells (the ESPN guy)
  • Very nice. Always wondered why this set was not more popular. Just submitted five or six on my last submission. Like '85 football, it's a crapshoot.

congratulations. i would love similar results on my 86s as well. i sent some tiffanys and i have a feeling those grades will be all over (first time on the tiffs) as they appear mint even under the loupe.

very nice on the glossy inserts.

    Thanks,

    David (LD_Ferg)

The Tiffanys generally grade much more like a 'normal card' (that is to say, more predictably) then their regular issue cousins. With the regular '86's it really is a roll of the dice. A card that comes back an 8 could be a 10 next week, and vice versa. But they tend to be more consistent with their grading of the Tiffanys, so (hopefully) your results will be more or less in line with what you expect.
