well, not what i had hoped for...several gems i know have been overlooked in this submission. i need to look very hard at some resubs. needless to say, i will be able to add many 8s to my reg set as i attempt to sell the 9s and 10s. below is a condensed list. i have multiples of some and have listed my highest grade example. out of 300 cards submitted i ended up with 2 - 7s, 1 - 9ST, 6 - 10s and the rest 8 and 9s. WOW!!! only 6 10s...the majority of this batch came from flawless rack packs. i posted this in the psa set reg forum as well.

smallstocks, they popped last week and today. i broke the subs into 100 card lots. this is 3 of 10 but should be all of the 85s i had sent in. i've got another rack box that i've not busted yet (well, i did pop 1 rack).

I'd love to add a Carl Banks PSA 9 at some point. Problem is, it's low pop and you rarely see them. I want the card not because I collect the '85 set, rather because I'm a huge Giants fan and was a big Banks fan too. I always thought LT overshadowed just how good # 58 was.

Nice job LD.

I just busted 5 racks and didn't get a single centered card without white showing. Got two left, but can't take the disappointment. That must be what it feels like cracking 1971 Topps baseball racks - except multiply the feeling by the price differential.

Six 10's from a rack case....tough, tough, tough.

i do plan to sell the 9s and 10s and keep some of the 8s for my set.

i have received input from a few key guys (in my opinion). i think it will be best (and fairest to all that have requested) to list them on ebay since the offers have been so close.

this has been a very tough decision for me as i would really like to let these go to board members. i hope there are no hard feelings whatsoever. i put myself in this predicament by posting the grades.

The last Chicago Bears Walter Payton Team Leaders PSA 10 sold for $55 ( EBAY ), however, that was several months ago. Since then, two more have been graded. Unless there's new blood in the Payton Registry, I would suspect it would sell for $50-$75. Centered PSA 9s consistently sell in the $18-$25 range.

To my knowledge, the top three Payton Registries already own a PSA 10 and I recently purchased one for my collection (private transaction). So for now, the heavy hitters/die-hard collectors should be absent? The best thing about EBAY is that you never know.
