Should Ebay buyers be able to block coin sellers?

Exchange form another thread:

<< I'm just curious why eBay never instituted a Block Seller feature, only Favorite Seller for buyers. The former would be so much more useful.

>>

I agree--there's a number of 'em I'd like to block (including some who post here).

Whadda 'ya think?

  • They won't do it.
  • I liked when after I left my first negative feedback for a seller, I got the automatic message
(something along the lines of) "would you like to add this seller to you favorite sellers list?"

A blocked sellers list would be a great idea. A real headache, er, time saver.

  • I've been writing to ebay, for a while, to implement such a feature from the My Ebay page.

Unless the sellers have a habit of contacting you frequently why would you need to block them as a seller? If you put them on your blocked bidder list doesn't that accomplish the same thing?

Agree that the blocked bidders list does about the same thing. Only wish that it would take more than 10 inputs.

I would think that most eBayers would want to block way more bidders than sellers. I guess best thing to do is ask eBay to add the feature and if there is enough interest they might consider it.

I exclude sellers in my searches. The ones with 'Live Internet Auctions' mainly

    That feature already exists.

It's called : Ignore---- but, it starts in the brain first. The follow- up is that you never think of them, again image
While I must admit it takes practice, I can assure you that once mastered, it is an art !

so to answer the thread. I would say NO.... ebay should not have so much control in anyone's life. We have enough freedom to handle this one. I think if I don't want to sell to a buyer, I don't have to. I also think that if I don't want to buy from a seller, I don't have to.
To ponder such things about CONTROLS that should exist in the mind seems to border on the fact that one may be destined to punch a clock for a very long time to come. Do you like what you do ? If someone else is going to think for you the rest of your life, then the answer is still : NO, ebay should not be able to charge me money for selling my awesome raw coins that are just not ready for primetime.... They should only charge seller fees to slabbed coins that are market acceptable image

    Free your mind !
Ebay has enough pages of crap to go through as it is.

    I mean no disrespect.

You contradict yourself. Of course I keep a mental database of the sellers I won't buy from but it would be nice to have a Block Seller option just to reduce the amount of "crap" from showing up on search results.

    Ohhhhhhhhh that crap image

Well now I see the contradiction. ( AFTER YOU TAKE ONE SENTENCE OUT OF CONTEXT)
You know what I mean. Now I know what you mean. Duh image I didn't look at it as though a lot of sellers are cause of the "crap". I stand corrected. Thank you image
I just figured I get lost trying to resolve issues with ebay... my problems are not so much with sellers or buyers, rather with layers of STUFF to go through to find my way in ebay, especially with regards to business issues (keep in mind, I am a wannabe, and ebay is a playground to me).
If my business could run without having to see me, I'd love it. (STEEL ROOFING..., OSHA and us are on a first name basis, thanks) NOT everyone buys a roof from me. But should the YELLOW pages tear out the page with my name on it before they deliver it to a guys house that doesn't like me , because HE WANTS THAT ?

A seller puts his stuff out there, whether we like his stuff or him is not the issue. A buyer buys stuff. The issues usually lie with PAY PAL, or lack of communication. I guess what the author is asking for is a software change to a system , an elaborate search engine if you prefer, for everything under the sun, and that he also wants to be able to put certain others that participate in the WHOLE search process to be somehow weeded out . Forgive me. I didn't look at it that way. Tough to do with such a huge database of BYTES, don't you think ?

I'll stand by my first post...it has it's share of sarcasm, too... and a bit of humor...and an OPINION image

I think there's already a way to filter out specific sellers from a query...isn't there???
