Not the best images, but here goes for a coupe neat ones.

1887 NGC 63 VAM-3A LDS -- it has a double t clash in the hair vee and was, in fact, the variety that discovered that clash which has been found on many others since then but not as prominently. I had to pay a premium for the toning even though I am not that wowed by it. Taken with my Sony F717 hand-held. AFAIK, they don't come much nicer than this.




1921-D NGC 64 VAM-12A -- wreath break and top of the census. Scanned on an Epson Perfection 2400.

Nice, Brian. Is that the highest slabbed by the top 4 TPGs?

Now we just need to locate a high grade EDS.

I believe it is the highest graded by TPG's. Wouldn't it be nice if PCGS would recognize it.

I sold a VAM 3A in NGC MS65 back in March.

Wow, a gem 3A. The toning on my choice one is starting to grow on me. Don't think I will be looking for an upgrade but will be looking for a high quality EDS. I assume that 65 is an LDS too.

Coxe, I know nothing about VAMs, but your VAM-3A certainly is nice.

Thanks, jayboxx. The toning does make up for the below average strike. Hard to capture the colors exactly, but this is pretty close -- using natural light.

I'm convinced somebody submitted a whole roll to NGC. I found two with the same NGC submission number at the Crabstate Show last year.

Thanks for the info. Was the number the same as mine (submission 2163035)? I'll have to keep an eye open for that. I noticed a similar thing for a roll of 1904-O VAM-4B (repolished) DMPLs at Heritage.

Was that submission 22-24 coins, 95% or all 21-D's and almost all grading 64? I can't access the NGC site anymore and the coins are locked up at the bank.
