Last night I had a dream about Stewart Blay's "Showdown". In my dream it was 2009 at the ANA summer convention. PCGS was sponsoring the special exhibit of "THE FINEST LINCOLN CENT COLLECTIONS OF ALL TIME". To qualify for this "showdown" you had to be listed in the "Complete Lincoln Cent" set registry with 100% completion. You needed about 350 different coins, both business strike and proof. At the showdown Stewart was there, of course, confident as usual. But so was Dan Close (Close to Perfect) and Gerry. (he registered right before the deadline) And there were four others for a total of seven. In my dream I don't remember their names but ALL the sets in the showdown were spectacular.

Somehow PCGS had arranged to "True View" photo all the showdown sets so that all of us on the forum could vote for THE FINEST LINCOLN CENT COLLECTION OF ALL TIME. There was a lot of discussion on the forum as to whether or not all the finest Lincoln cent collections were represented. Laura (Legend) was a strong advocate that there were other unregistered sets that were nicer. But, in the end, most of the responders said whoever won this competition would be considered owner of the finest set. At that point I woke up. I guess I'll have to wait until 2009 to find out who won.
