What will Phil Nevin do for the Cubs?

This guy used to kill the Cubs at Wrigley. I know his ave is down but 9 HR's and 30+RBI's sure could help an anemic Cubs offense.

Forget blocking him; find out where he lives and go punch him in the nuts. --WalterSobchak 9/12/12
Looking for Al Hrabosky and any OPC Dave Campbells (the ESPN guy)
Then he will go to the local liquor store, get hammered, score some crack, smoke that, grab a hooker, get caught by the Chicago PD, end up on Jerry Springer...then when he's out of jail for a couple of days, he will go to Wrigley and hit a ton!
He came to the Cubs with 31 rbi's, more than anyone on the team. I hate that Dusty is such a lefty/righty pitcher guy. Nevin will likely only start against lefties but hes got more power than anyone active right now.

his six years in SD he hit .291 with 147 HR's and 526 RBI's. That's hardly "nothing"

<< <i>well if Baker never puts him in the game he can't do much. >>
Very true. If they are trying to replace a big bat that is lost by DLee, it hardly makes any sense to only bat him vs. lefties.

I could think of a lot worse players to have than Phil Nevin.
Do most Cub fans, or baseball fans in general, think Dusty Baker is doing a good job ?? Seems quite nonchalant or even easy towards player's mistakes. Injuries are part of the game and he's not to blame for the state of Lee, Wood, and Prior, I guess, but shouldn't he do SOMETHING to try and shake up the team ??
<< <i>Nevin certainly cant hurt, if he gets a reasonable chance to play.

I used to like him but he is starting to get to me.
Last night they were down 1-0 in the 8th. 2 outs and Pierre gets on first. They don't run him until 3-1 and Womack fouled it off. Then he lined out and pierre was stranded on first. I don't get that. Womack is not going to hit a dinger so the only way he would hit pierre in would have been a hit. I would think they should have sent him on the first or second pitch.
