You did pretty well. The wheaties more than made up for the Canadian cents and the unplated 1995-D is certainly worth more than a cent. Be sure the unplated cent wasn't just painted silver. I would have expected the zinc to have started corroding by now.

  • it was pretty coroded i cleaned it off to make for sure it was unplated and it was

Oh dear! The "cleaning it off" part might have decreased its value somewhat! I doubt you completely wrecked it, but quit cleanin' stuff. image

Maybe one of the error collectors on here can give you a better idea about the value of an unplated zinc cent. I hope so. If you can, you might want to post a picture of it so we all can look at it and offer more intelligent opinions. image

Make sure to set aside all the pre-1982 pennies. They're valuable!
  • I've been doing this lately, but those 82 zinc small dates are strangely elusive....image
What do you think, Mr. Bigglesworth?

Are you joking or serious? Why would pre-82 be valuable?
    I brake for ear bars.
  • My dad and I go through about $50 worth of coins about once a month. usually when its raining and my soccer in cancelled out or we cant ski in the summer. We get a few wheaties once in awhile, but I am trying to get a set of jeffersons from the rolls. We got them all except the 38S, 39D, 39S, 43D, 45D, 50, and 50D. We even got a proof Anthony dollar in a roll once.

Good luck with your hunting, its fun. Leena

Because they're copper. Have you seen the price of copper lately? Pre-82 cents are worth more than face value in melt.
  • I bought 5000 pre-1982 Lincoln BU rolls recently. There are a box of 50 circ 72-s rolls too and some brown unc 72-p rolls. Does anybody want these for a nominal premium before I take them to the bank?
