i went to the bank got 38 penny rolls and found 7 wheat backs 3 canadian cents and a 1995 d penny that was unplated can anyone tell me if that unplated 1995 d would be worth more than a penny

You did pretty well. The wheaties more than made up for the Canadian cents and the unplated 1995-D is certainly worth more than a cent. Be sure the unplated cent wasn't just painted silver. I would have expected the zinc to have started corroding by now.

Oh dear! The "cleaning it off" part might have decreased its value somewhat! I doubt you completely wrecked it, but quit cleanin' stuff.
Maybe one of the error collectors on here can give you a better idea about the value of an unplated zinc cent. I hope so. If you can, you might want to post a picture of it so we all can look at it and offer more intelligent opinions.

Because they're copper. Have you seen the price of copper lately? Pre-82 cents are worth more than face value in melt.
