Fantasy Trade, need advice

Should I trade Gagne for Livan, Marquis and Valverde?

I think I should, who knows how Gagne will do.

What are your thoughts?

    If you have extra closers, then Gagne would just be trade bait, I guess you would have nothing to lose. But, if it were me, I think the upside potential outweighs what you might receive in return.

    Me too, but if he gets hurt again I will be pissed.


    I passed. I don't really need more SP's and Livan plays for Washington. I am by no means set at closer with Jenks and Street, so Gagne will help out huge.

    Good move, Valverde's not even the closer any more...

    I wouldn't touch Valverde, but you should trade Gagne as quickly as you can... chances of him staying healthy are slim, and his velocity has been noticably down in the rehab games he has pitched in. I'd try to deal for a different closer, as you're going to need help soon - Street looks very shaky and I'd say there's at least a 50/50 chance he's going to lose his job. Jenks is fine for now, as long as his arm doesn't fall off, although, he's always one pitch away from that.

    Closers I would recommend trying to acquire:

    Bob Wickman - he's cheap, under-rated, & reliable and he should pile up saves over the remainder of the season.

    Akinori Otsuka - he's dirt cheap, he's always been a good pitcher, he has done a great job so far, and Cordero sucks, so he should have the job in Texas all season barring a complete collapse.

    Chris Ray - If someone would trade him straight up for Gagne, I'd take the deal in a heartbeat. Ray is good and Baltimore wins enough for him to rack up saves.

    BJ Ryan - Same as Chris Ray

    Otsuka is my #1 closer right now. Been great the last couple of weeks.

    7th place right now out of 13 teams.

    Alternates from 4th to 7th depending on the week......I feel like David Glassimage
