My first question is - do you want to mount a display on the wall or put a case on a shelf.
I picked up a nice display cheap on ebay that was from Steiner Inc. It houses like 15 balls.
I will give you a good link when I get home that I have used - they do really nice work.
On the authentication? I would contact PSA and talk to them - that would be best. Eliminate the middle man.
Good luck - BTW, you can put the ball on your scanner and give us a look. If you have a ball cube, you can place that easily on the scanner. That's what I do.
edit: where did you pick these up?

I bought a couple of bat racks from them and was very pleased.

<< <i>hey guys, i've been reading the posts for some time but decided it was time to start participating, so I hope you don't mind me chiming in on this post with a question. I have quite a few auto baseballs, all stored in ball cubes, but I've noticed that over the years, some have begun to yellow. They are all kept in a boxes, in a dark closet, so why is this happening? --Brian >>

I seem to remember that balls made in the late 80s with the Bobby Brown OAL stamp with "Haiti" placed under the Rawlings logo were made without using distilled water and that this is causing discoloration over time - no matter how they are stored.
I don't know if this is truth or just something passed on - I remember reading it somewhere.

I actually collect autographed baseballs (total value of probably $25,000 in baseballs alone). I store my balls in a very large 2 door cabinet with windows. The cabinet is stored in my finnished walkout basement do to the fact that I can keep the baseballs out of direct sunlight. However, even though this room is actually at ground level, it does get humid during the summer. With this said, I keep a dehumidifier running during the summer. Plus, I have some of the balls in UV protected steiner displays as shown by other members and others in UV protected ball cubes.
Brian: My feeling is that humidity is causing your balls to yellow.

No offense to anyone who has come on this board and asked those questions, but in this money driven "hobby" of ours, this thread is a breath of fresh air.

so has his career.
<< <i>I agree with Stone on the Sports Display's. I have two of the ball cube holders and they sit on top of a book casefacing away from a window. I have had no issues with yellowing, just my Griffey Jr. has almost faded away to nothing. >>

My Griffey is also yellow! It's in a Steiner glass cage on a top shelf and almost impossible to pull down without a major deal - can you check the ball? Who is the maker? Does it have Haiti stamped on the area where it say OAL?
Just curious - when I do take the ball display down, I'm gonna take a look.
I also have a Gary Carter ball that is "turning."

Ken's coming along...actually.
He improved in the month of May - almost hitting .300 tho, I would like to see him hit a few more round trippers.
He hit 300 last year and considering how long he has been in the bigs and over 500 homers - not bad, not bad.

Stone, The ball I have is a Rawlings American League ball. Gene A. Budig and the ball is still pretty white but the signature is fading out. I think it was the pen that was used.
Thanks, Red
