Superior Gold & Goldberg Gold Auction

ReeceReece Posts: 378 ✭✭✭
I went to both auctions, Superior Mon. evening and Goldbergs last night, both were well attended many major dealers there, Superior prices realized were strong for the nice stuff and for the not so nice stuff it didnt meet reserve. Goldbergs had a lot of branch mint gold, but a lot of it had been messed with, one dealer I overheard said that the coin doctors were busy on this consignment, alot of dipped out washed out coins, and the coins that looked pretty were recolored. Lots of it sold anyway but I was suprised that the prices were not very strong for most of it, I bid on a few nice coins for a friend and won them below what I thot I would have to pay!! Both sold over 10,000,000.00 worth of coins, now on to Heritage 5000 lot auction. I dont see how the major dealers keep up with this stuff.!!image

Oh NO! If the results were modest, we may lose the valuable EBAY CONSTANT OFFERINGS OF COINS BY AUCTION HOUSES and be forced to only look at sales WITHOUT BUYER FEES!!!!

heritage has already started. Watching online I am seeing a bunch of the low quality stuff not meet reserve. They are still on Lincolns.

There will ALWAYS be a market for the good stuff.
