For those of you who like a rough cut, I just opened a pack with this Spaceman - looks like it was ripped out of the sheet with a ruler...

    Oh yes...

    Not looking at a sheet cut there!

    There's more fuzz on that card than I have on the back of my head these days!

    Wow ! someone had too many Mooseheads while operating the cutter on that opc.
    Looks like they ripped it instead of cut it.

    As soon as I saw the title to the thread, I knew it would be something pertaining to OPC. You gotta love how they used wire to cu their sheets.

    I am not at all shocked by this card.OPC 78-& 79s are notorious for being in this condition.I bought a 79 OPC set once graded as MINT fresh pack.They were pak fresh all right but almost every card was like the Bill Lee card.

    does anyone have any info on how the OPC sheets were cut ??????? and what about the centering issues.... what the hell was that about...........????????

    I don't know what the contraption looked like, but this is my understanding as well. Rather than using blades, OPC used wires to cut their sheets. The wires dulled extremely quickly, causing the rough cuts, and weren't changed nearly as often as they should have been. If you see a super-sharp, unaltered OPC card, it was cut right after a wire change.

    That's just the Kirlian effect emanating from Spaceman's image. Obviously, Lee was in an improper Zen modus operandi when the photo was shot.
