Who is the All-time Worst/Oddest/Craziest Dealer or Ebay Seller You Have Dealt With?

Mine is definitely Broadway Rick.

Cliffs Note:

1. 1992 - I purchase a 55T Robinson Nmmt.

2. Comes in a heavy screw down with ineven torquing and appearance of a corner crushed.

3. I return card.

4. Rick calls me on a Saturday nite at 9pm!!! Giving me a bad time. I'm in shock.

5. I go to the SCD and get the number of Strike Zone - I didn't have caller ID back then.

6. To my surprise Rick picks up. I told him I thought I would get an answering machine. Call forward.

7. I give him what for! I told him when I came out of the fog, I realized "you can't talk to me like that - it was unprofessional...." His retort: "I'm under a lot of pressure right now and on medication..."

Where does it say "Dr Phil" on my freakin' forehead!!!!

What's yours?

    eBay seller...Cody

I purchased a 96 Finest Iverson rookie for next to nothing(maybe 3-4 bucks with the 2.50 shipping charge) and well, 3 weeks later no card. So I send a non-harassing message and warned him that basically if it doesn't arrive you will pay me back and it'll be cool. About 2 weeks later I get a plain white envelope with the Iverson in a screwdown inside. The case snapped off around the screw and the card was basically loose. Just the principle of the thing, if I pay 2+ bucks for shipping, atleast throw it in a bubble mailer ya know. I have some much worse ones that I'll type up later. As well as a list of shoddy eBay dealers/rippers for ya'll.

TOBEEECAT hands down. The great Brian Catequet is the most obnoxious, pompous dealer around. He crammed four lots (which I had paid $5 EACH for shipping, with no discount for multiple items) into one envelop that was really not big enough. One of the items was stuck to the envelop flap glue and two other items were bent in the envelop. When I politely requested his return policy, he dodged me for a couple of emails, finally sending back a one word message in huge all caps bold face RETURN, followed by DO NOT BID ON MY AUCTIONS ANYMORE.

I've been only too happy to comply.image

Here's a big thumbs up for tobeeecat. For any of you who have ever had the pleasure of getting feedback from him, you might recognize this:

    good

Well sometimes he puts it in all caps. Maybe that is short for very good. Bob --You probably got a good instead of a GOOD and just needed to vent.

Also if things don't go well he does not resort to bad or BAD. He is able to bettter articulate his anger than his appreciation

A few years ago I bought some "actual photographs" from Gettysburg. The guy claimed excellent condition for something 135 years old.

They were black and white postcards still in a souvenier album that was stamped gettysburg museum 1992.

I tried to return them and the guy told me he had contacted some high priestesses from the depths of new orleans who would take care of me and my family. I started getting non-stop emails for porn and viagra and all that crap.

I tracked him down a bit and his dad was on the board of directors of one of the major airlines. I emailed him and sent a copy of the email including the threat to the email addys of the other members, and asked if he could contact his son and straighten it out.

The refund came in the mail a couple days later and I never heard from him again.

I used to sell cars on ebay, don't get me started on wacko buyers!!

One more about TOBEEECAT - he holds feedback; if you give him he positive he'll give you a "good". If you neg him, he negs you, if you neutral him, he'll neutral you. He's a first class dick and I hope to meet him at the Nat'l. I'd love to accidentally spill beer on his table.
