Recommendation for Web Page or Book US Mint Sets

Can't find a simple definitive list on the history of US Mint Sets specifically when they made Proof sets, or runs of silver proof sets and I believe there were a couple two or three years there weren't even Proof sets.

The US Mint page helps a little but it doesn't go back for enough or I'm not looking at the right thing.

Appreciate any help I can get to enlighten me on Mint sets.

This book covers proof and mint sets from 1936-2002.

New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.

Also check out David Lange's book: A Guide Book of Modern United States Proof Coin Sets, which covers the vintage years of 1936 to 1942, through the classic years of 1950 to 1964, the Special Mint Sets of 1965 to 1967, modern sets of 1968 to 2005, and the 50 State Quarters Proof Sets starting in 1999.
