Would you buy coins from either of these antique sites?

Would you or have you bought from either of these places or have stories to tell? Looks like some nice coins in the Ruby Lane site, and some overpriced, but unique things in the Tias site.

    TTT

Nobody has bought from places like this?

I like some of the Ruby Lane coins, nice mix of real slabs, 3rd rate slabs, and raw.

decent photos on the Ruby Lane coin I looked at (the sold 21-D Morgan). If something was worthwhile, of course!

I wondered if sites like these were frequently updated and fairly trustworthy.

There's a NGC MS-60 1893-S Liberty Head $10 gold selling for less than recent eBay has them going for. I wonder how much lower they'll allow you to "All offers will be considered".

  • I've dealt satisfactorily with Ruby Lane in another area of collecting. Having said that, I found on their site that not only do they sell SGS slabs, they brag about their dealings with Aboncom. For that reason, I won't deal with them any longer and I strongly urge anyone here to avoid perpetuating the SGS scam by dealing with second-tier SGS sellers.

I know nothing about Tias, except that their photography sucks.

I bought an item from Ruby Lane. I thought I could flip it quickly for a 10x score. Turns out I was wrong about the quickly part (I still have it), but I was very pleased with the purchase.

I'm pretty sure that both of those sites are associations of individual sellers, so like anywhere it can be hit or miss when you're dealing with any specific one.
