What would be a fair price for bulk Indian cents?

I'm talking about common date for about 6-700. I'm trying to give a value for a freind of mine.

  • I've seen people snap 'em up on ebay at $1 each (no, I wasn't the seller). A while back a guy out of Pittsburgh put up a dutch auction on ebay for exactly what you're talking about. $1 each was the conclusion. This was probably two years ago now.

About $1 each for full rims, clear dates, no damage. For AG coins with faded rims 40 cents or so would be about right. For higher grades, it is tough to get the money for them. One way to sell is to roll them and offer them on Ebay, one roll at a time. Some dealers have buy prices for this kind of material in the ads near the back of Coin World.

Thanks. I have gone through them and removed all of them I could mostly read Liberty on. The rest go from AG/G

$1 each is still a decent ballpark number. But like others have said, if the lot looks uniformly worse or uniformly better than average, some adjustment would be in order.
    When in doubt, don't.

I have found some really good stuff so far. Lots of 1908-s mixed in with the regular 1908(no such luck with the 1909). Tons of type2 1886's just lumped in together. lots of early dates with .30/.40 on the envelope. I dont know much about indians, but I think he would have gotten ripped by alot of dealers. I'm not slamming dealers Ijust know one in particular that would.
