I just cherrypicked a Thornhead :D

Auction pic:

"Cool," I said. "A VAM 1B5, I think. I don't have one, and for $cheap, even if the coin looks a little beat, I will go there." So I sniped it. It arrived today:

I think it's been dipped to remove album toning, because there's still a little clinging between the denticles (which are mint-sharp, by the way). Otherwise I couldn't be happier with the coin. Sometimes you're the windshield, sometimes you're the bug. image

While I'm bragging, I just sniped a 1921D VAM 1A1 for less than $15. image

The line from the cap to the leaf and from the cap to the U are obvious in the auction pic. At least, they are when you're three inches from the screen, like I am when I'm searching Ebay. image

    Nice pick up.

I need to spend more time looking at raw stuff.

Nice pick. I've got one also that I thought was a different stage of the die. This one isn't even imaged at ashmore.com. Seems rather confusing to me on the numbering system presently assigned to the different die stages of the '21-S 1B1. I'm assuming that there are 7 different stages at this point in time.
