Teletrade Price Gouging?

Last night on Teletrade I was planning to bid on a coin but when the bids got high - I didn't bid.

Here's the strange thing.....It showed the current price at $1300.00 and the next bid amount (had I bid) was $1350.00!
However......when I checked out the "Price Realized" this morning the coin sold for $925.00!
I would have bought the coin had I known I could've actually bought it for $1,000.00.
WHAT THE HECK? image

Can someone explain this?
Thanks

    What's the lot number?

    Bid cancellation?
  • They can cancel bids after the auction ends? Oh well! Saved me $1,000.00!
Maybe I'll look for a Saint at that price. image

I've had similar instances with TT. Their Customer Service gave me the runaround when I asked for an explanation. I avoid them now.

I've never had this happen to me on TT - if it did I would be all over their customer service dept.

Just another example of unusual outcomes at TT.

Funky things happen on TT. Strange, unexplained weirdness!

My guess would be that the consignor agreed to remove his buy-back bid and accept the highest actual bid. I have never had it happen with Teletrade, but I have had bids (that at the time didn't meet reserve) accepted after bidding closed with other auction houses.
Just because I'm old doesn't mean I don't love to look at a pretty bust.

That would be a logical explanation.

Very odd indeed. Never heard of this one happening at TT. I am sure it must be George Bush's fault.image
