Ive recently recieved 8 rolls from the mint. for long term value would it be better to keep all rolls untouched or place each coin in a 2x2? Thank you in advance.
If you handle them ie. putting them in 2x2's they will be worth less. IMO I will add that in the long term unsearched has more appeal to some. Unless you are willing to open, search, and submit for grading the gems.
I do not see them losing any value by placing them in 2 x 2's. The big question is storage. Is it easier to store them in rolls or in 2 x 2's?. Also, do you plan to sell them one at a time? Why use the time for such an effort if it has no advantage? If they are bank wrapped rolls i think that it is better to leave them so. They will be easier to sell when the time comes. JMHO. Bob
I'm usually inclined to open up rolls to get rid of culls and stabilize the keepers in acetone or alcohol. It's not always necessary to clean these but by the time you know which ones need it then it might be too late. You'll lose the "originality" and any premium associated with it but in the long run the coins are more important than the packaging. If you're talking ten to twenty years then it might be worth keeping them together for the premium but otherwise it's less likely.

It's hard not to open them to check the
quality but that's probably best.
Then go buy more rolls and let em sit.
