    Kalch,

this may have been a scam. Your wildpair7780 was a shoe salesman on ebay. And all of a sudden he is BUYING $5200 $3 Indians??? Very fishy. And his last win is also a NPB. Would be very careful. The price realized on your coin seemed quite high and only 2 bidders took it the last $1000. Notice that Ed Lee (ex Eliasberg 1913 nickel owner) was an underbidder at around $4200.

Hold of on your neg FB to the 90th day. maybe you won't get a neg out of this. If the bidder hijacked the shoesales account you might not get a neg if ebay cleans it up.

I think the terms of use on eBay call for payment withen ten days. So I wait until then to start any action other than sending the bidder a invoice.
  • Are you sure you won't get paid? Is it because the winning bidder just got a negative for not paying on another auction?

Wait a week, file a NPB, get your final value fee credit and then do a 2nd chance offer to the 1st runner up. He looks pretty solid, with almost 25,000 feedback score. He is a dealer though, so maybe you need to relist and hold out for more dough.

It is easy to do, no hassle at all.

Negatives are like scars. You don't want a lot of them, but they build character. The first one is always the worst. I have two - neither was deserved. One was just like yours, retaliation for a non-paying bidder. Other one was from a guy a sold a used camera to, and he decided he didn't like it. Never gave me a chance to do anything about it, just left me a negative. That one taught me to never leave feedback first, if you are the seller.

    Good luck.

good point Gigem, the underbidder was Centsles who is solid when it comes to paying up. I've bought a few items from him over the years. I would certainly pursue that route if the winning bidder defaults.

also the auction ended yesterday; if he wants to pay by money order, he cant get it in the mail until tuesday, so he might just contact you and mail on tuesday.

my 2 cent piece is on that you are allowed to include payment instructions as in "payment must be recieved 7 days from auction ending with notice of intent within 3 days"or you do leave yourself a little open.i always give at least a 7 day courtesy but ask intentions after 3.goodluck and my 2 cent is give the guy a break its a holiday weekend as he may of had one of those bid snipe programs in pounce mode while he left to go camping with his kids n wife

I'm missing the same thing. NPB Negative feedback for a buyer an hour after the auction ended? The OP asking about a NPB complaint 24 hours after his auction ends, on Memorial Day Weekend?

I'm definitely out of the loop about some important detail here.

Times like this it's best to request contact information and give the bloke a call.
  • If the buyer does not respond to the UPI complaint, the neg won't stick. If you are unsure of the validity of the bid, pull the contact information and give him a call. Could be a hijacked account.
