ebay wanted some info from me also, heck I've only sold 4 times on the bay

Dear eBay Member!

Hereby we would like to inform you that we provided the constant examination of your billing information and as a result a small error was found. This card can serve only as identification one and the charge at anytime is impracticable. By means of this way of identification there is always a safe place in eBay for any purchase to be made and the check of client's billing information is held. It is necessary to have debit or credit card to set up a seller's account. when the automatic payment takes place the credit card is charged within 5-7 days since the moment of invoice receipt. Verify this data and take into consideration that your account can be invalidated in case of non-payers and you can be resposible for costs collecting.

Be sure it is important to mind this issue. Although it could seem to be a little inconvenient we do it only for your data and account protection. The only purpose is to provide secure storing of your account.

You would figure they'd at least have spell check, with all the other technology they use..image

Most of these scammers do not have a firm grip on the english language. Their sentences either make no sense, are all broken, or both.
Listen. Strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government. Supreme executive power derives from a mandate from the masses, not from some farcical aquatic ceremony.

i think this recent spat of security checks is due to someone
higher up realizing how many hacked accounts they have on
    their servers.

imagine people having 100s to 1000s of ebay accounts that
have real people's names and info behind them.

to use at their whim from mother russia and china. safe
    from the F BEE I.
  • I wonder how long it'll be before the Phishers catch wind of this forum and copy and paste

actual eBay e-mails. We should be careful what we post.image

I, personally, never touch or press on the link or answer any email like this.

There are people, all over the world, trying to steal identity and personal information by proporting to be ebay.

If ebay is going to contact you by the email route they will customarily also place a message in your "My Messages" on your "My ebay" page.

Just check your "My Messages" on your "My ebay" page for valid important communications from ebay.

Also, if you still have any doubt just go to the live chat on the ebay home page and it will take you but a few minutes to get in touch with an ebay representative.

Give them your ebay ID and ask them if there is ANY problem al all with your account. You can cut and paste the "ebay" email message if you wish them to review it, but this is probably not neccessary most of the time.

I receive about three to five "ebay" or "paypal" email scams per day and ignore all.

Think by now we would all know if there is a problem with our account we would have a problem logging in.
Or would they just let us keep using the account?
And eBay and or PayPal never use clickable links.
  • that email is a total scam, i got 3 of the exact same one this week, each time i forward to spoof@ebay and they right back and confirm it. thats the best way to make sure. any real messages will show up in My Messages on your My Ebay page.
