I am not a Lincoln collector, but I believe the error is "WIDE AM". I just checked my mint sets and all of my 2000 cents have a close AM..

I don't know what the Wide AM is worth, but the close AM would be the regular coin.

thanks drg, but yeah ngc even states that they are a "close am".i'm just wondering if there truly are 3 different reverses in close-normal and wide.as there's a premium set for the wide am's but no word of premium on close.anyways have a nice memorial day weekend

I don't know the answer, but sometimes they just list the opposite....That is Wide Rim vs. Narrow Rim for 1979 P SBA's and maybe WidAM vs. Narrow AM for these....Just a thought.

I have followed these a bit and never heard of a third reverse.

The Cheerios cents are close AM reverse coins which is the normal design for 2000. They are just nomal run of the mill coins, nothing special.

There is no third reverse. I never understood why NGC slabbed the normal cents as "Close AM". It could be that whoever submitted the coins paid for variety attribution-I guess. But, I would not understand why someone would pay for that either.

In all my searching, I have found the 2000 to me the most common Wide AMs available, followed by 1998 and then 1999. I have yet to even see a 1992P/D Close AM in person. They are out there and one of these days, I will check my bucket of coins I put my change in to every day to see if I can get lucky. image

I have to admit when I read this auction I did not catch that it said "Close AM Error". When I read they were both errors I did not read any further since I knew the error was the "Wide AM".....Just goes to show, always read the fine print!

Not that I was going to bid on the auction, but I actually thought a Wide AM Cheerios cent had been found.
