NOT pcgs,ngc,or anacs??????

Would you think about buying a "lot" of morgan dollars, certified, but by a no name company? From an ebay deal and so sight unseen, except maybe pictures.

With the intention of putting them into a dansco type of album. S whatever slab they are in wouldn't really matter.image

I wouldn't and I strongly urge you not to either. "Other" third party grading companies do not have guarantees. Even though it says MS66 on the slab, the coin could be polished and overdipped and you could have no recourse. If it's not PCGS, NGC, ANACS, or ICG, treat it the same way you would a raw coin on ebay. Do the right thing and say: image

I wouldn't do it on a dare and using someone else's money.
    When in doubt, don't.
  • I'm only asking the question. I haven't seen, or bid on such an auction.

But another question would be, Given a choice between an "off brand" TPG or RAW,(again to be put in an album) Which would you think about?

Another way of asking would be, are the "other third party tpg" coins regarded as RAW image

I say to be put into an album, as apposed to trying to build a registry set, or the like.

No i would not buy them unless very reasonable (i.e. little above silver value)image

Does not matter-if i like the coin it does not matter if it is graded or not -or if graded by whom. REMEMBER to buy the COIN not the holder. (i discount ALL tpg holders to my opinion-my opinion is first and foremost my reason to bid or buy a coin.)Textimage

I wouldn't buy morgans sight unseen, especially if they're raw or in crap holders. But the older I get, the more picky I get about what deserves to be in my collection.....image

If you have low expectations, probably a bit safer than buying a raw coin.

I also would not. Depends on who the no-name company is. Many of those so-called "certified" slabs are actually just a small-time guy putting a label on/in a piece of plastic or even a CoinWorld holder. Probably most would not cross to the big TPGs or even get bodybagged or net graded. Do you want to risk putting a harshly cleaned/whizzed/altered/etc...; unless the auction has good pics which I would still be cautious.

Not unless it was someone I knew or i'd seen the coins in person. Your asking for trouble.

many of the no names are problem coins and or way overgrade, my advice pass unless they are real cheap with a decent return policy.
