Are GEM Elite's Mostly Crap??

I've read a lot that leaves me to believe many of the cards they grade are either trimmed or fakes?
There are two types of people in this world; those who like Neil Diamond, and those who don't. My ex-wife loves him!!

    Cards submitted to GEM are not 'graded'; they are simply slabbed.

    To give you an idea of GEM's standards, they say on their homepage that they'll slab any card so long as it's within 3 millimeters of the card's factory measurement. Which means you can trim a full 1/8" off and still get the card in a holder.

    I've cracked 2 GEM cards in my life. One came back a PSA 9 and one a PSA 8. But, both were modern and relatively cheap. I'd probably shy away from high dollar vintage in those holders.

    Avoid like plague. Any GEM that crosses to a PSA 9 was mistakenly sent to the wrong grading company to begin with.
